The Institute of Experimental Psychology was established in 2016. The Institute implements a research program in the field of experimental psychology, corresponding to the modern international level.

The main purpose of the Institute is to study the fundamental mechanisms of cognitive processes, human states, his activities and communication.

The main goals of the Institute are:

• organization and conducting of experimental psychological research
• teaching students, postgraduates and interns the basics of modern hardware experiment
•development of the methodological base of experimental psychology
• development of objective methods for registering psychophysiological indicators in the perception of informational products
• identification of age patterns and individual characteristics of perception of informational products
• study of the effectiveness of information and communication tools in teaching schoolchildren
• development of methods of psychological and pedagogical examination of products for children

As part of the research conducted at the Institute, modern natural-scientific methods of psychological research are used, such as: the method of oculography (registration of eye movements when perceiving environmental objects), polygraph, the method of neuro-computer interface, the method of polypositional observation, methods of registration of psychophysiological indicators, etc. These objective hardware methods are used both in within the framework of practice (classical psychological diagnostics, counseling and therapy), as well as within the framework of applied and fundamental scientific research.

Methodology of the work

The work carried out is mainly based on the provisions of the cognitive-communicative approach (B.F. Lomov, V.A. Barabanshchikov, V.N. Nosulenko). In the course of the work, the following research methods are used: polypositional observation, verbal-communicative methods, psychosemantic techniques, etc.

The Institute of Experimental Psychology (IEP) specializes in conducting experimental research and educational and methodological work with students, graduate students and interns.

The practical activity of the department is aimed at developing new technologies and software and hardware complexes for conducting scientific research, and innovative developments in the field of cognitive psychology, psychophysiology, comparative and zoopsychology.

The main goal is to obtain new experimental data on cognitive functions in human communication and activity, for use in military–technical, technological and socio-economic spheres.
